What can I say? If there is one place that has kept its fascination unaltered throughout the (long) years it is il Fico vecchio. Food is simply excellent, with a variety of seasonal ingredients that is commendable, a generous (not exceptional) range of wines and a simply fabulous self service appetizers selection, in the splendid building. Be ready to pay accordingly.

A gem with history dating back to 1547, Osteria del Fico Vecchio offers a dining experience like no other. The enchanting garden ambiance sets the stage for a culinary journey. The moscardini fritti was a delightful treat, the paccheri freschi ai fichi, mandorle e guanciale offered a unique burst of flavors, but the standout was the Linguine al ragout di crostacei e chips di zucchine. A must-visit when in Rome!

Beware of this restaurant if you have any food allergies or intolerances, even if you inform them of the situation. The staff lacks basic training of allergen handling, cross contamination and other EU food law requirements.
